Turlock Chamber of Commerce offers internships for students and recent graduates interested in seeking valuable work experience in business administration, marketing, and public/civic partnerships.
Program participants have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the Chamber’s mission to promote student achievement and preparation for future career competitiveness by fostering business and community engagement preparing students to work in business, leadership, or entrepreneurship.
The Chamber offers internships year-round but aligns most student programs with the semester. The length of time that an intern is with the Chamber is based on the internship program that they are participating in and/or circumstances.

Types of Internship Programs
Student Ambassador Volunteer Program
An eight-to-ten-week program that offers volunteer opportunities to students enrolled in accredited high schools. Students who participate in the program will gain educational experience in their field of study or career interest and will develop personal and professional skills. This program provides flexible scheduling for high school students. No experience required.
Student in Business Internship
A six month to yearlong program that offers volunteer opportunities to students enrolled in accredited high schools. Students who participate in the program will gain educational experience marketing and business administration. Interns develop personal and professional skills by leading part of a chamber project they help develop under the direct supervision of the Executive Director. This mentorship opportunity is limited to qualified applicants only. These programs provide flexible scheduling for high school students but require a commitment of 3-5 hours per week (based on portfolio project size). High school interns are expected to volunteer on weekdays after school.
College Internship Program
This program accepts college students from accredited institutions with a wide variety of qualifying experience to develop skills and confidence in their role as a future leader. Internship is for students in undergraduate programs offering either part- or full-time experience at the Chamber or its local businesses so students explore career paths related to their academic fields of study or career interests. As a volunteer intern you will provide support to the Chamber of Commerce, local businesses, and nonprofits, and may help with community events. Minimal experience required.
Graduate Fellowship Program
This six months to one-year unpaid leadership development program promotes careers in the business or marketing to recent graduates and those pursuing their Master’s degree. Fellows develop personal and professional skills by leading a dynamic project they help create under the direct supervision of a mentor. Fellows will be asked to propose a project prior to acceptance for consideration and then be given the support needed to pilot their idea in our community.

While the Chamber offers internship opportunities in the fall, winter, spring, and summer. The duration internship opportunities can vary depending on the program that the student or recent graduate is participating in.
Please note that availability of unpaid internships and fellowships does fluctuate. Some opportunities require specialized subject knowledge to qualify, and some programs have a positive education requirement.

The Application Process
Please note that, for all programs, the dates are approximate. Based on a student's or recent graduate's availability, internships can begin or end before or after the typical semester deadlines. Some programs can last up to 1-year.

Applications are not accepted through the mail without prior approval.
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Attend an accredited high school
- Have permission from the institution at which he/she is currently enrolled to participate in internship program
- Be enrolled not less than half time in a course of study related to the work to be performed
College & Graduate Eligibility
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Be accepted for enrollment or enrolled and seeking a degree or certificate in a qualifying educational institution (college, graduate program, junior college, trade school, certification program) on a half- to full-time basis (as determined by the educational institution)
- Meet the definition of a student throughout the duration of your appointment
- Meet the qualification standards (e.g., series and grade) of the internship position in which he/she is applying
