Leadership Turlock 2026 Cohort

About the Program

The Leadership Turlock program, presented by the Turlock Chamber of Commerce, begins each year with a weekend retreat centered on leadership development, self-reflection, and team building. Throughout the program year, participants engage in immersive, behind-the-scenes experiences that explore the inner workings of the Turlock community, including local and state government, community services, education, healthcare, media, arts and culture, infrastructure and development, public safety, business, commerce, and agriculture. Leadership Turlock seeks individuals with a sincere commitment, motivation, and interest in serving the community. All applicants are pre-screened, and selected finalists will be interviewed.

Tuition for Leadership Turlock is $1,600 per participant. Full participation and attendance at all sessions are required, and tuition is non-refundable. Because attendance at every session is mandatory, applicants must have the full support of their employer. Leadership Turlock is a dynamic community leadership development program designed to cultivate informed, engaged, and connected leaders—modeled after the successful Leadership Turlock program operated by the Turlock Chamber of Commerce for over 15 years.

Through a series of immersive, behind-the-scenes experiences, participants gain a deeper understanding of the key sectors that shape the Turlock region, including local government, education, agriculture, healthcare, public safety, and economic development. The program brings together emerging and established leaders from diverse industries to build relationships, strengthen civic awareness, and inspire collaborative solutions that positively impact the greater Turlock community.

Participant Expectations

Leadership Turlock requires a significant time commitment to ensure a meaningful and immersive experience for all participants. The program meets on the second Friday of each month from March through November, with full-day sessions scheduled to allow for in-depth learning and engagement. In addition, participants must attend a mandatory overnight retreat on Friday, February 20, and Saturday, February 21, which serves as the foundation for team building and leadership development. Full attendance at all sessions is required for successful completion of the program.

Participants in Leadership Turlock are expected to demonstrate a positive attitude, strong commitment, and mutual respect throughout the program. Successful participants approach each session with an open mind, a willingness to learn, and an eagerness to engage with diverse perspectives. Professionalism, integrity, accountability, and respect for fellow classmates, presenters, and the community are essential leadership traits emphasized and expected. Because the program relies on collaboration and trust, participants must be fully committed to active participation, punctuality, and representing both themselves and their organizations with excellence while fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
