Government Relations

We look out for you so you can get on with business.

From grassroots organizing and coalition building, lobbying, and engaging in political campaigns, the Chamber is making Turlock a better place to live, work, and do business. In the past few years, the Turlock Chamber has held candidate forums, endorsed candidates and issues, and created a Political Action Committee and a Ballot Measure Committee. The Turlock Chamber's goal is to foster a positive business environment.

Grassroots and Coalition Building

The Turlock Chamber works with local groups and business leaders to provide a network of advocacy on behalf of Turlock business and to gain valuable insight into the issues. Sometimes, a specific issue demands action through the creation and development of a broad-based coalition and the Chamber supports our business leaders and community with such coalition building efforts.

Lobbying

The Chamber's CEO and leaders from our membership work together through the various committees to monitor, to draft, and to review public policy. The Turlock Chamber policy guides the Chamber's legislative advocates as they lobby on matters that concern Turlock business. If appropriate, the Chamber provides directly lobbying efforts on behalf of key issues facing our community and our business leaders.

Political Action

The Turlock committees provide invaluable support to the Chamber's Board of Directors in the development of the Chamber.s positions on candidates and ballot measures.

The Government Relations Committee services as the Chamber's Ballot Measure Committee with the charge to review critical issues facing the Chamber and its members and to take critical stands on those issues.

The Political Action Committee is charged with creating and implementing strict procedures for the endorsement and support of candidates seeking public office in the Central Valley and the State of California.
