A Shopper’s Paradise
Vintage antiques or cutting-edge fashions? Used books or brand-new Blu-Rays? Grocery stores or farm-fresh fruit?
It doesn’t matter what you’re looking for. Turlock has it all.
Turlock is a collection of five major shopping neighborhoods, each with a different feel -- and different shops to peruse.
Spend the day strolling through Historic Downtown Turlock, browsing boutiques in a picturesque setting. Shop at some of the top national chain retailers at Monte Vista Crossings. Or live like a local and hit up some of the longstanding stores on Geer Road. The choice is yours.
Historic Downtown Turlock
Words are not enough to describe the beauty of Downtown Turlock. Chock-full of charming antique stores, jewelry and fashion boutiques, and delightful niche stores, there’s something new to be found around every corner.
Meander through the pedestrian shopping area and soak up all that Turlock has to offer. With more than 100 years of history on display, it’s worth taking your time, grabbing a bite at a fine local eatery, and making a day of it.
Monte Vista Crossings
Turlock’s largest shopping complex, the always-popular Monte Vista Crossings is home to big-name retailers like Kohl’s, Target, Lowe’s, Home Depot, TJ Maxx, and Bed, Bath & Beyond. Other specialty retailers, hotels, and a slew of chain restaurants fill the 159-acre center, located along Highway 99 at Monte Vista Avenue.
The extremely popular shopping center expanded once again at the close of 2014, adding a new phase anchored by Dick’s Sporting Goods and JoAnn Fabric and Craft.
Geer Road/University Area
California State University, Stanislaus is located at the intersection of Geer Road and Monte Vista Avenue. Around that epicenter, a slew of businesses have opened up shop, catering to students and Turlock residents.
Grocery stores, pharmacies, hardware stores, gyms, nationwide retail chains, and more all call this area home. It’s a little bit of everything, spread along two of Turlock’s main thoroughfares.
Walmart, Staples, and JC Penney anchor Countryside Plaza, located on Fulkerth Road just off Highway 99. This large shopping complex also plays host to local restaurants, apparel stores, and an auto service center. That last item makes particular sense, considering the Turlock Auto Plaza is located just a few blocks down Fulkerth Road, on the other side of Highway 99.
Golden State Boulevard
Old Highway 99, now known as Golden State Boulevard, runs alongside the railroad tracks that bisect Turlock. That old road is still a major thoroughfare for Turlock residents, dotted with small shopping centers and retailers from nearly every category.
